How to book hotels with China Online Travel?
Simple, follow 3 steps.
Send us a fax, email or simply call us. Hotel space will be blocked upon request. A notification will be sent to you soon.
Send us a deposit to secure the reservation. Full payment is due 15 days prior to arrival date.
A voucher or letter of confirmation will be sent to you when full payment is received. You are ready on your way.

What do we need to make preliminary reservation?
Please advise us in detail: number of passengers, names, number of rooms required, in/out date, hotel name, if available arrival/departure flight (train) information. Please also indicate if you require one or two beds room.

How soon will China Online Travel response to your request?
Usually, COTS will send you a notification in 1 to 2 days. This notification will advise you of the booking status.

When to proceed deposit, how much?
A deposit equal to first night room rate is required to secure your booking. The deposit should reach this office within 7 days of our notification.

When to proceed full payment?
Full payment should reach this office no later than 15 days prior to schedule arrival date. Failure to comply with our deposit/payment requirement may result in automatic release of your reservation.

What do you need when check in at the hotel?
A written confirmation or voucher will be sent to you by mail or fax as soon as full payment is received. You need to present your voucher at the time of check-in. You may also required to show your passport for verification purpose.

What is booking reference code?
A unique booking reference code will be assigned for every booking, which usually printed on your voucher such as "COLT-0088". This code is very important, you need to provide it when you need assistance from our local office in China or in the event of voucher lost.

Why does hotel still need imprint of your credit card?
Your room and service charge has been prepaid. However, most hotels require a credit card imprint or a cash deposit for incidental charges at the time of check-in.

How about changes or cancellation?
$25.00 per room per change, If change is made after document has been issued.
$50.00 per room, If cancellation is made more than 4 days before schedule chicken date.
If you cancel 3 days (72 hours) or less, prior to your schedule arrival date, the first night's lodging rate will be charged.

How to extend your hotel stay?
To extend your hotel stay you can contact China Online Travel office in China. Contact information will be provided to you either on voucher or contact information sheet. This will prevent you from being double charged.

What if you need to check out early than schedule?
You must inform China Online Travel office in China to cancel the unwanted portion at least one day ahead of time and need to obtain cancellation authorization in written for a refund. A handling fee of US$25.00 will be assessed. All claim for refunds must be made through China Online Travel USA offices and within 30 days after termination of the stay.

How early should you book your hotel?
Earlier the better. Due to shortage of hotels, hotels in major cities in China are often sold out. The earlier you book, the better chance you get confirmed. 30 days ahead of time is recommended. If you happen to need hotel reservation within 15 days of schedule check in date, a full payment is immediately required. In the unlikely event that China Online Travel fails to confirm the hotel you required, you may select any hotel or a full refund will be made to you.
* Due to current hotel situation in China, requests for hotel room within 3 days prior to schedule arrival date will not be processed.

Why you need to pre-book your hotel in China?
As mentioned above. Due to shortage of hotels in China, hotels in major cities in China are often sold out, especially in high season. Pre-booking can save you a lot of trouble and save your money, too.

What is hotel service charge?
Unlike in the U.S., you don't have to pay sales tax for hotel accommodation & meals in China. However, a 15% service charge will be assessed on top of the original rates either for board or lodging by the hotel. So if you book through other agents or directly with hotels, don't be surprised if they charge the additional 15% of service. Our rates already include this service charge.

Method of payment
Payment can be made by bank draft, money order, check or wire transfer. Sorry, credit cards are not accepted.
