Day 1 - USA/Shanghai
Your journey begins as you board an international flight bound for
China.
Day 2 - Shanghai
Landing in Shanghai, once known as the "Paris of the East",
you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 - Shanghai (B/L/D)
Immerse in the culture and sophistication of Shanghai on a full
day tour of the city's premier sights. Wander the lovely paths and
pavilions of the 500-year-old Yu Garden; stroll the riverfront Bund;
and view all manners of Chinese arts displayed in the astounding
galleries of the new Shanghai Museum. Return to the hotel at day's
end to prepare for a thrilling show of the Shanghai Acrobats.
Day 4 - Shanghai/ Wuhan/Yangtze Cruise (B/L/D)
Fly to Wuhan and begin your Yangtze adventure. Arrive and aboard
ship and settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned cabin. Depart
upriver while the city lights fade from view.

Day 5 - Yangtze Cruise/Yueyang (B/L/D)
Dock today amid the lush, enchanted landscapes of Yueyang and tour
the Yueyang Tower and Jungshan Island with its exotic birds and
foliage. Back on ship, enjoy engaging lectures and activities, and
state-of-the-art facilities.
Day 6 - Yangtze Cruise/Three Gorges Dam/Two Gorges (B/L/D)
Continue cruising toward the Upper Yangtze, stopping to tour the
Three Gorges Dam construction site. Then gather on deck for our
entry to the Three Gorges. Sail the rushing Xiling Gorge, then a
weave through the bewitching Twelve Peaks of Wu Gorge. All are brought
to life by informal narratives on deck. Dock for the night in the
market town of Wushan.

7 - Yangtze Cruise/Three Small Gorges or Shennong Stream/Qutang
Gorge (B/L/D)
Board small vessels for a breathtaking voyage on the Daning River
to its Three Small Gorges, each covered with greenery and alive
with the calls of birds and monkeys or sail through the beautiful
Shennong Stream known for lush pine gorges and translucent water.
Returning aboard ship and cut through the narrow Qutang Gorge, flanked
by soaring vertical cliffs, before docking in the town of Wanxian.
Day 8 - Yangtze Cruise/Fengdu or Wanxian(B/L/D)
The Yangtze broadens our final day of sailing, past orchards, ancient
temples and footpaths dotting the bank. Today's tour will present
either Fengdu, a folkloric "ghost city", or Wanxian, a
Sichuan market town steeped in atmosphere and color.
Day 9 - Chongqing/Xian (B/L)
Disembark in Chongqing and bid farewell to the cruise staff. Fly
to Xian, China's most historic cities.
Day 10 - Xian (B/L/SD)
Xian was the cradle of ancient Chinese civilization dating back
to 4,000 BC, and the capital city for eleven dynasties up to the
9th century. Tour the highlights of the city and outskirts today,
none more spectacular than the army of Terra Cotta Soldiers buried
around the tomb of Emperor Qin for 22 centuries, but hidden beneath
the earth until their discovery in 1974. Also explore the Provincial
Museum, the landmark Big Wild Goose Pagoda, and Ming-era City Gate.
Conclude an awesome day with a special dinner banquet and stage
show at the Tang Dynasty Theater.
Day 11 - Xian/Beijing (B/L)
Fly to Beijing, the capital of China with an incredible mix of historic
and modern landmarks.
Day 12 - Beijing (B/L)
Explore the landmarks of imperial Beijing: the famous Tiananmen
Square; the imposing Forbidden City, a treasure trove of art and
heirlooms; the Temple of Heaven's exuberant interior and delightful
park setting; and the breezy landscapes of the Summer Palace, still
much as they were during the court of Empress Dowager.
Day 13 - Beijing (B/L/SD)
With its various segments stretching nearly 4,000 miles across the
rugged terrain of northern China, the Great Wall is truly a world
wonder. Today's visit will allow ample time to linger at the site,
photograph it from dramatic perspectives, and contemplate the resilience
of the ancient people who toiled under the harshest conditions to
erect the wall entirely by hand. Continue to the Ming Tombs, burial
site of the Ming Dynasty's royalty before returning to the city
for a delicious Peking duck dinner.
Day 14 - Beijing/USA (B)
Bid farewell to China as you fly aboard your selected airline home.
